Colombia's real treasure

We'd been thinking that Colombia's best products are petroleum, gold and coffee. (I won't say anything about coffee) but still, we haven't noticed that this is the country of water. Water makes Colombia the beautiful biodiverse country it is. Our privileged position in the planet gives us the chance to be a factory of water. Whether it is solid, liquid or gas, it is present in all colombian territory, but we don't give it its real value. It would be important that we could learn more about our ecosystems, our climate and ecosystem dynamics. We know more about African wildlife, European weather, and U.S. territory and landscapes. Globalization and economy are important, but nature is our provider. It's our home. It's time to start caring.

We give for granted that nothing's missing to us. We just turn the tap on, and we have water to drink, to shower, to wash our cars and even to play. Only some people away from us in our territory is suffering for the lack of water due to mining and some other industrial processes that take water away from them, and return it polluted and poisoned (if so). It is time to stop and think about our priorities, our future and start developing sustainable ways of obtaining resources without hanging ourselves in the process. It's time to stand up for our paramounts which are unique in the world, our forests, our mountains and rivers, our recycling system that is the rainforest. Our oceans. It is time to stand up for our right to life. Many people stand for domestic animals, and that's OK, but neither domestic nor wild animals, or even us would survive if we keep on destroying our sources of water looking for golden pellets or black oil that wouldn't feed anyone, instead, will feed a war for money. Colombia is water, Colombia is life. That's our real treasure. Let's stand up for it.
